Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1911. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. B.A., 1914. Commenced service on 29 January 1915. Second Lieutenant of the 8th Battalion, Prince of Wales’s (North Staffordshire Regiment), 1915; Lieutenant, 1916; attached to the 1st Battalion, 1917. Served in France and Belgium. Killed in action at Klein Zillebeke during the 3rd Battle of Ypres, 31 July 1917.
