Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1908. Science Exhibitioner. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. 3rd Natural Sciences (Chemistry) and B.A., 1911; B.Sc., 1914. On staff of Great Western Railway, 1914-15. Commenced service on the 27 January 1916. Second Lieutenant of the 1st Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment, 1916. Served in France and Belgium. Killed in action at Polygon Wood during the 3rd Battle of Ypres 4 October 1917.
