Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1911. History Scholar.  A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. A member of the 1st Hockey XI, 1912 – 1914 (Captain in 1914). President of the Essay Club, 1914. 3rd History B.A., 1915. Commenced service in June 1915. Second Lieutenant of the 9th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, 1915. Served in France. Killed in action at Fricourt during the Battle of the Somme on the 1 July 1916.
