Second Lieutenant Herbert Edward Hobbs (1913)

9 November 1894 – 25 May 1915

Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1913. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. Commenced service in August 1914. Second Lieutenant of the 8th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, 1914; 2nd Battalion attached to the 3rd Battalion, 1915. Served in France and Belgium. Killed in action at Hooge, near Ypres on the 25 May 1915.
