President Elect., XIII Club, 1914; Debating Society, 1914. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. Played Rugby for Harlequins, East Midlands, Hampshire and for the Army. Commenced service on 31 August 1914. Second Lieutenant, 6th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment, 1914; Captain, 1916. Served in France and Belgium. Mentioned in Despatches, 1917. Killed in action, 31 July 1917.
