Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1908. History Exhibitioner and a member of the 1st Torpid, 1912. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. 2nd History and B.A., 1912; M.A., 1915. Student and lecturer at Rennes University, 1912 – 1913. Working near Cambridge, 1913 – 1914.
Commenced service on 3 November 1914. Second Lieutenant, Perse School Officer Training Corps, 1914; Lieutenant, 1915 (Instructor of young Officers at Cambridge); Lieutenant, 8th Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Served in France, 1916 – 1917. Killed in action at Rodincourt, near Arras on the 17 March 1917.
