Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1909. History Exhibitioner. A member of the 1st Rugby Football XV, 1910 – 1911. President of the Essay Club, 1911; Debating Society, 1911; Tenmantale, 1912. 2nd History and B.A., 1913; 2nd Theology, 1914. Wells Theological College, 1914. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. Commenced service in September 1914. Second Lieutenant of the 8th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment, 1915; Lieutenant, 1915; Captain, 1916, serving in France. Killed in action at Beaumont Hamel, 16th November 1916. Brother of John Lancelot Walmsley Stock. The Lancelot Stock History Scholarship was founded in their memory by their mother in 1927.
