Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1913. Studying with the intention of taking Holy Orders. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers’ Training Corps. Commenced service on 8 January 1915. Second Lieutenant, 9th Battalion (Queen Victoria’s Rifles), London Regiment (Territorial Force); Lieutenant, 1915; Captain, 1916. He served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders. Killed in action 9 September 1916.
