Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1914. Commenced service in December 1914. Second Lieutenant of the 6th Battalion, Northants. Regiment, 1914. 7th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), 1915; Lieutenant, 1917; Flying Officer, Royal Flying Corps, 1916; Lieutenant, Royal Air Force, 1918. Served in France. Killed in action near Proyart when fighting seven enemy aircraft, 25 June 1918.
