Commenced service (following acceptance into College but prior to matriculation) on the 9 May 1915. Second Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion, East Surrey Regiment attached to the 2nd/4th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment serving in France. Killed in action on 19 July 1916.
